Review: Chimera Book One

Chimera Book One
Chimera Book One by Phil Gomm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received an ARC from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

I have to say, I really like this book. It’s definitely written for a younger audience, but the idea is pretty cool in terms of a bizarre world where inanimate objects. This book kind of reminded me of Phantom Tollbooth. In fact the two worlds are very similar.

That being said, I found to writing to be just a tad bit dull and the pacing to be a little rushed. Granted this is the first book of a series, but there’s still a bit too much telling in comparison to showing.

But interesting start. I’m looking forward to the other books.
